German Cruisers and JFK’s Torpedo Boat Exploits - Briefing #1
Hi Everyone,
Before I get stuck into the meat of today’s Briefing I want to first take a second to introduce what this is. The Briefing is to be a monthly roundup of everything that Historigraph has going on, with general updates on how different video projects are progressing, when we might expect their release, and some behind the scenes images and video. It’s going to be pretty similar to the kinds of updates I’ve been giving till now over on Patreon (and will be duplicated there for those who prefer to keep their memberships on that platform). Hopefully though they will be a bit more regular!
Overall August has been a frustratingly quiet month - largely because I caught COVID for what I think is the fourth time, which has slowed productivity in terms of research and writing for some upcoming projects in the autumn/fall. Luckily though we were quite far ahead, and CK and Chris have still had lots to work on behind the scenes.
Here’s a look at how the Video Tracker stands at the moment:
Not included here is the video on the German light cruiser Emden, which is done and just waiting for its release, which will be next week.
CK has been working on animation for the Kennedy video over the last few weeks and its shaping up really nicely- we’re probably looking at a release towards the end of September for that one.
The Valkyrie project - about the 20th July plot to assassinate Hitler is mostly done, I just need to spend a few days tidying it up, inserting music and bits and pieces like that. Release for that one will be in October. You can probably tell here that I am rationing our releases- pacing ourselves to push more releases into the ‘peak’ months at the end of the year rather than dropping them in the quieter summer months. Though of course silver members get videos in Early Access as always, which could well be several weeks ahead of release in Valkyrie’s case.
From previous updates you may remember a video about the Hungarian Revolution, which was originally pencilled in for November time, but as it stands this is being pushed back into 2025 to allow for more time on some of the artwork, to make sure we get the best end result.
Here's our map of 1956 Budapest
Approaching over the horizon for November instead is a video about the 1982 Battle of Goose Green during the Falklands War. We covered the Falklands War in general in 2022, but Goose Green was one battle that had to be skipped over for resource reasons, so I want to go back and correct that. This video will also accompany the release of a Falklands War poster, in our first return to poster making since I removed them from Teespring due to excessive profit margins on their side. More on this soon!
